Some of you had already noticed, and it’s true: over the past year, LinkedIn has refined how the LinkedIn Feed works.

And they are continuing to test and better the algorithm. The goal is to surface content that reflects our interest, global workforce trends, and what we find valuable.

The goal is also to move away from inauthentic engagement and toward providing genuine professional value. Here is what you need to know .

Key Takeaways 👇

  1. Smarter Content Ranking: LinkedIn now uses large language models and larger sequence models (Generative Recommenders) to understand what a post content is really about, and how your interest changes over time. It specifically looks at the information you decided to share on your profile, and how you engage with content over time.  By analyzing this information, the Feed is able to reflect how your interests change and to surface new topics that are relevant to you and that you’re curious about.

  2. Taking Action on Automated Conversations and Comments: the Feed values authenticity, and LinkedIn recognizes that professionals come on the platform to meet real people. The Feed is now trained to identify and suppress engagement pods and comment automation. LinkedIn prioritizes posts that spark substantive professional debates rather than just inauthentic conversations.

    • 💡 Example: Tactics like asking users to "Comment 'YES' if you agree" or using "poll-baiting" are actively downranked.

  1. Helping New Members Discover Relevant Content: LinkedIn is moving away from relying solely on long-term engagement history and profile completeness to curate your Feed. Instead, a new Interest Picker is being tested: it will allow members (especially new ones) to select specific topics like "Product Management" or "Leadership" to receive high-value, expert content from day one.
