Hello, Community members.

As the largest professional network in the world with over 800 million professionals and 58 million companies, LinkedIn has the data intelligence required to accurately and confidently highlight, validate, and update CRM contact records. We would like to officially welcome to the Next Generation of Data Validation where you’ll spend more time closing deals and less time hoping your CRM data is correct.

As you’ve probably seen by now, we've announced the Next Generation Data Validation, which include the new enhanced CRM Badges* and improved Data Validation Flags*.

*This feature is available for Advanced Plus customers with CRM Sync enabled. Customers with Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365 are eligible for CRM Integrations.

The Next Generation of Data Validation focuses on 3 key changes

1) Bolster confidence in your CRM with our Enhanced CRM Badges

With our Enhanced CRM Badges, we are bringing the Data Validation experience into Sales Navigator natively. The badges provide a visual cue to notify users when contacts/leads saved in CRM have information that is out-of-date with the information provided on their LinkedIn member profile. The updated badge empowers users to monitor when lead and contact data is out-of-date, and easily track when someone has left an organization.

The Enhanced CRM Badges empower users to:

  • Monitor when lead and contact data is out-of-date
  • Easily track movement within organizations

2) Strengthen data quality and hygiene with Improved Data Validation Flags

With our Improved Data Validation Flags, we allow users a seamless and easy way to check and validate critical contact information within Sales Navigator. Previously we only validated account information in CRM, and now we validate in Sales Navigator with clear visual cues when the title, account, and location are out of date, and indicate which opportunities the contact may be associated with.

The Improved Data Validation Flags allow users to quickly see what information is out-of-date on a contact and provides a tool to more closely monitor accounts.

  1. By clicking the down arrow on the CRM Badge users are presented a new hovercard that validates title, account, and location
  2. Simple and easy visual cues allow users to validate when title, account, and location are out-of-date
  3. Clicking the “Update CRM Record” button allows a user to quickly update the out-of-date information directly from Sales Navigator into your CRM

3) Save time toggling between platforms and update Out-of-Date Contacts

The Next Generation of Data Validation allows users to update out-of-date data directly from Sales Navigator into their CRM with just three clicks. The feature auto-fills a pop-up screen on Sales Navigator with the validated information from a member’s LinkedIn profile and allows users to easily apply the changes to their CRM.

The feature empowers sales reps to quickly update information to their CRM, and provides confidence that they have the right information for their key contacts and new prospects.

  1. Ensure that the contact’s information is accurate in your CRM with auto-filled fields based on their LinkedIn profile. Users can leverage tick boxes to select what they will and will not update.
  2. Remove the contact from opportunities on their old account to ensure that your open opportunities are kept up to date.
  3. Clicking the “Confirm updates” button the changes selected are updated instantaneously to your CRM.

Additionally, if you are either a Program Manager or Admin, see here further detail on the requirements and considerations on how to enable your teams to start leveraging the enhancements of the next Generation of Data Validation.
