Sep competitionHi everyone,

Can you believe we’re down to the last four months of the year? Well, it’s that time of the month again. I am excited to launch September’s Monthly Competition in the Community! 🎉 Make sure you follow all the steps below to enter this month’s competition and check out the summary and rules if you need a reminder for how the Monthly Win Competitions work.

🔍 How do I enter this Community Monthly Win Competition?

  1. Like this post.
  2. Comment how you’ve been able to “break the ice” or find a warm path in with a lead using Sales Navigator. For example,

📣 What is a Community Monthly Win Competition?

Early each month, we invite all Community members to enter the monthly competition by completing a task or ask in a certain timeframe, usually about three weeks. After the entry period, everyone (including the participants) can vote on who they think did the best job and should win the competition before the end of the month. Remember that the goal of these Monthly Competitions is to help members discover Community discussions, resources, and features that will improve your virtual selling strategy and activities.

📋 What are the rules around this Monthly Win Competition?

  • Participants must be in the Sales Navigator Community and over 18 years old.
  • The entry period runs from now, Sep 6 to Sep 22 until 11:59pm PST. For your entry to count, you must submit it within this timeframe.
  • After the entry period, the Community team will launch a poll with the names of qualified participants for other everyone (including participants themselves) to vote on between Sep 23-29 on this post.
  • The participant with the highest number of votes will be announced the winner on Sep 30.
    • If there is a tie, the Community team will use a random drawing to determine who the final winner is.
    • If there is only one qualified participant, that participant is automatically named the winner without the need for a poll.
  • For further details on the Monthly Competition, please read the official Community Contest rules here.
  • Disclaimer: Your comment can be re-shared without additional permission in any upcoming Community post, article, or resource.

🏅 What are the prizes?

The winner will have the opportunity to win a Sales Navigator Community puff vest:

I can’t wait to hear how you’re leveraging Sales Navigator to find warm paths with your leads. Good luck and let the competition begin!

Thank you,

Eva C.

I use the spotlight filter "posted on LI in 30 days" to identify very active leads & I find 100 w useful when writing InMails

First, I scan a prospect's profile. I am looking for anything that we may have in common.

For Example:

I have a prospect that used to work at a veterinary hospital that was one of my first customers when I started in sales in this market. I simply said to the prospect, I see that you used to work at (Animal Hospital). I noted that Dr. Ruben was one of my first customers. It opened the door for a conversation.

Next, I am looking for any post activity by either the individual prospect or the prospect's company.

Example two- Different Industry

I was working on penetrating NAPA Auto. Napa put up a post regarding a race car that had been rewrapped to support a local children's hospital program for kids with cancer. My wife happens to work in the cancer space. I reached out to the prospect and commented what a great thing they had done for childhood cancer awareness and support and noted the organization that my wife works for. That opened the door to further conversation.

Once a connection is made, I will either send an email or InMail, thanking the prospect for connecting. I provide a brief description of who I am and who my company is. I attach our brochures and always comment "perhaps there is an opportunity to align our organizations".

You are establishing the "why they should consider meeting you and you are creating trust and credibility" I may also attach a customer testimonial or two.

I ask for an opportunity to schedule an introductory meeting- Do you have availability in your calendar within the next two weeks to schedule an introductory meeting?

This step is important. You are setting a layer of urgency and you are controlling the calendar.

I provide a link to my schedule, using Calendly, allowing the prospect to self schedule if they like or they can schedule with me through correspondence.

Regards

Scotty

[Voting is Open!]

Hi everyone,

First, thank you to @Mirija B and @Scott R for taking the time to participate in September's Monthly Win Competition and sharing how you're leveraging Sales Navigator to identify warm paths with your leads! 😊

Please VOTE here for who you think should win. The poll will close next Thursday, Sep 29 (11:59p PST), and we will announce the member with the most votes as the winner next Friday, Sep 30.

@Mirija B — The "posted on LinkedIn in 30 days" is one of my favorite filters! I like how you understand checking who is active on LinkedIn with this filter before sending an InMail, so you already have a sense of how likely they are to respond. 👏🏼

@Scott R — As always, such detailed insights! That's great that you were able to find commonalities between you and the prospect simply by scanning their LinkedIn profile first. I like how you leveraged these as a conversation starter and kept it light and quick. You then only provided more value and how you can help them achieve their goals after they connected with you — in a non-intrusive way that helps build trust as you said. Bravo! 👏🏼

Best of luck to both of you and thank you again!

Eva C.
