Hello, Community members.

As you’ve probably seen by now, in this quarter's Sales Navigator Product release, we've announced the new search experience* that aims to help you pinpoint the right leads and accounts faster.

The new search feature streamlines your search experience, increases visibility of important search components, and removes unnecessary information during your search. This functionality aims at identifying the right accounts and leads faster and making it easier for reps and customers to take action.

*Important note: the new search experience will be rolling out over the next two quarters. If you do not have access yet, stay tuned.

A) As a recap to what was included in our Q1 2022 Product announcement, updates include:

  • The introduction of a refreshed Search process, including a larger collapsible, intuitive grouped view of filters, making it easier to keep a full picture of all the ways you can access LinkedIn data
  • Net new filters such as "Company headquarters" and "TeamLink connections of" to build on existing favorite filters like "Connections of" and "Changed jobs in the past 90 days"
  • A live updating interface. Watch your results change as you add and remove filters to allow immediate fine-tuning.

There’s no better place to find that data than in Sales Navigator and it all starts with the reimagined Search. For this reason, Search has been reconfigured to speed the time it takes to find successful results. Below we are sharing the new and changed elements to the new Search experience.

B) What is new to the new Search experience:

1. Refreshed look and feel. Sellers will now be immediately taken to a full view of available filters for every search, making it easier for users of all levels to take full advantage of LinkedIn data.*

- Additionally, you can now save an account directly from your leads page, by placing your cursor over the company name of a lead. A pop-up box with the company description appears, and you can save it directly.

2.Watch results update live. Tweak your search as you go by watching how each additional filter or keyword updates your results, helping you find the best fit leads in a shorter amount of time.

3.New intuitive filter grouping and updated include/exclude functionality. Filters have been ordered by group and we've streamlined the include/exclude functionality to increase usability.

*Community Pro Tip I: New collapsible filters only show available filters, and you can view these without scrolling down.

Community Pro Tip II: When viewing prospects, you can view 2,500 connections on your search results page.

C) What elements have changed in the new Search experience:

1.Some filters and features have been removed: Those are the "Became a member" filter and the search bar that was found above the left-hand rail of filters on the results page and sales preferences. If you use keywords and boolean modifiers, the search bar at the top of the results page functions in the same way as that removed search bar and saved searches can be used to replace sales preferences.

2.Some filters and groups have been renamed: The past lead and account activity filters are now combined under "People you interacted with" and the "CRM contacts filter is now "People in CRM". The filters previously labeled "Spotlights" can also now be found under the "Highlights" label.

3.There are also some new filters: Filters new to Search are "TeamLink connections of", "Saved Leads", "Saved Accounts", "Previously Viewed", "Current Company", "Past Company", and "Company Headquarter".

💡 Additionally, we'd recommend you to visit this Community article on the new search to understand how the new search feature streamlines the search experience.

Please share with us what you think of the new search experience coming to you within soon.

Thank you,

Nádia

@Nadia Vieira  than k you for the summary of changes. One thing I noticed yesterday during a demo is that I no longer see where we can enable sales preferences when selecting the search criteria. Do you know?

@Nadia Vieira  nevermind. My question has been answered by reading @Eva Chen's post. Thank you Team Awesome 😊

@Tamika B delighted to hear that you have found the answer so quickly. 😊

Nonetheless, adding it here so that it is easier for anyone else that might have the same question:

What happened to the 'Sales preferences' button in this new design/experience?

While the toggle 'Sales preferences' on/off button is no longer available in the new Search experienced, Saved Searches works the same way and we encourage users to leverage this function instead. Users can save up to 50 Lead Searches and up to 50 Account Searches.

Thanks!

Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! Having both the company headquarters and the persons location is simply AWESOME. HUGE advancement in Search. Lets me be focused!

@John M I just love this feedback! Both the Sales Navigator Community and Product team are delighted to hear that you are enjoying the new search experience and that you see the improvements we have been focusing on bringing to all our users. 😊

Please keep sharing your feedback with us, as that is how we can continue to deliver a streamlined Sales Navigator experience.

***UPDATE***

Hi all,

I’d like to share that as of Q4 2022, Sales Preferences has been sunsetted and removed from Sales Navigator. Instead, you can now leverage pinned filters in Search to get to the filters that matter to you the most.
