📣 What is a Community Monthly Win Competition? 

Early each month, we invite all Community members to enter the monthly competition by completing a task or ask in a certain timeframe, usually about three weeks. At the end of each competition there will be a random draw that determines our winner! It’s worth joining each month to increase your chances to win LinkedIn swag. Remember that the goal of these Monthly Competitions is to help members discover Community discussions, resources, and features that will improve your virtual selling strategy and activities.

 

📋 What are the rules around this Monthly Win Competition?

  • Participants must be in the Sales Community and over 18 years old. 
  • The entry period runs from now, March 3rd, until March 31st 11:59pm PST. For each entry to count, you must submit it within this timeframe.
  • After the entry period, the Community team will do a random draw with the names of qualified participants.
  • The winner will be announced on April 1st.
    • If there is only one qualified participant, that participant is automatically named the winner without the need for a draw.

I would use the above messaging for IT Directors, but for the CIO or CTO, I would change the messaging to something more relevant and personal for their role.

My go to conversation starter is to get the leads responding on their recent post or engagement on any posts with a further opinion of my own to get the conversation started.

While it takes a bit more effort, better conversations lead to better conversions. 


I like to comment on something I saw on their profile, such as what college they went to.  It seems to relax the prospects somewhat, and they appreciate you noticing something about their profile.

This is Damien at Xocial Gong. I’m not gonna lie. This is a sales call. The reason for my call is to book a time with you. I help small business owners like yourself who are losing business because their calls keep going to voicemail. We’ve developed a solution so you never lose a deal over a miss a call.

I make it about them, something like:

Grabbing attention in a way that feels fresh, natural, and not overly salesy is what I strive for! I’ve found that leading with genuine curiosity and a touch of personalization makes all the difference.

100% it’s about the personalization for me and the ability to connect on a human first level.

I connected with someone recently with a Subject “What’s your dance party playlist?” because of a reference they had made on their profile.  Another time I actually sent a picture of me with a lion on a university campus where the contact was an alum.  Obviously, the best opportunities are when people take the time to have some information on their profile whereas the basic profiles lack the ability to find a personal or professional connection.
