Today, I invite you to share your best approach to networking and learning from others.
To kick us off, here are ️ 5 tips for networking:
Personalize your connection request with this three-sentence template:
- Why you are reaching out
- Why should they want to accept
- Invite to further conversation on their terms
Community Pro Tip: Research to find out why a connection makes sense from their point of view. If you send out generic invitations, they will feel that you see them as a target.
Start building connections before you need them
Think about networking as a long-term activity and work on these connections:
- Your colleagues
- Your clients
- Champions at your accounts
- Thought leaders in your industry
- Your prospects
Put the needs of the people you’re networking with first, and don’t start to talk about yourself and your business first
Once you add someone to your network, reach out to them, otherwise, they might think later that you are only connected to make more sales.
Now I’m turning to you: what’s your golden rule on networking that you cannot live without?
